Single Malt

A wonderfully sherried Deanston, which was distilled back in 1997 and left to mature for the next 19 years in bourbon casks. That wasn't it for this Highlander, and it was then transferred into Palo Cortado hogsheads for a two year finish. Finally, at 21 years old it was bottled at a cask strength of 51.8% ABV, in a limited release of 277 bottles. A fabulously fruity postprandial dram.
Toasted teacake choc full of dried fruit, with candied orange, oak spice, vanilla fudge and gentle fruity sherry aromas.
This is where the sherry influence really comes into its own, with mulled spices, nougat, set honey, orange marmalade and toasty oak.
Rich red fruit and more floral honey, with earthy vanilla pod lingering.
