Deanston 12 Year Old typifies the citrusy, malty, honeyed, and waxy house style the distillery creates through its unique production process. The multi-award-winning single malt Scotch whisky is made from unpeated barley, sourced from the Scottish Highlands, and is bottled without chill-filtration or additional colour.
“It’s like a lawnmower has exploded in your mouth - it’s freshly cut grass, it’s sweet green fruits, it’s summer in a glass,” says master blender Julieann Fernandez.
Honeycomb, barley sugar, cut grass, and a touch of lemon oil.
Creamy vanilla, malt biscuits, and toasted oak with hints of nutmeg.
Lingering sweet citrus and spice.

One of my favourites and it does not disappoint. Excellent value for money. Plenty of fruity notes and a good after taste in the mouth
Deanston 12 was a nice surprise. Sweet, warm, and for 43GBP, hits well above its weight. This is interesting, as I found Deanston Virgin Oak to be absolutely the worst.
This is an excellent malt and for the price no need to look further from this distillery- I haven’t tried the PX which could be interesting as well
Lovely stuff smooth with a little bit of bite. If you are looking for a classic you really will not go far wrong with Deanston.
A lovely dram
