Hailing from an undisclosed Islay distillery, an intensely sherried single malt from Darkness! Matured for 13 years, there's plenty of coastal peat smoke and classic bonfire character here, coupled with layers of fruity sweetness thanks to a finish in an oloroso sherry octave.
Earthy notes of coffee grounds and cacao and some pebbly minerality open the way for layers of stewed fruits and sweet peat smoke.
Buttered sourdough, smothered with raspberry jam, joined by darker notes of blueberries and salted tablet. There are prunes and dates too, with thick, tarry smoke aplenty.
Charcoal and bonfire embers last an age, coupled with syrupy poached stone fruits and a trickle of toffee.
