Darkness! Broadbay 8 Year Old Pedro Ximénez Cask Finish
An 8 year old single malt from an undisclosed distillery, which has been given the Darkness! treatment. Before being bottled at cask strength, this whisky was allowed a finishing period in tiny, specially-coopered casks that previously contained Pedro Ximénez sherry. It's got peat and sherry notes by the bucket-load. It's by no means a subtle expression. It's ace. Only 438 bottles were produced.
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Nose
Old leather, raisin, tangy sea salt notes and iodine.
Palate
Bright notes of cinnamon and clove, with dried fruit and stem ginger sticking around. Continued coastal richness.
Finish
A long finish of smoke and sherry.
