Double matured Dalwhinnie here. This Distillers Edition sees the Highland single malt matured in oloroso seasoned American oak casks, which brings a touch of tropical notes to this whisky.
Guava, and mango, with twists of black pepper.
Fresh tropical fruit drizzled with honey, a touch of toasted coconut, and some nutmeg.
A little nutty, and with warming spice.

15 yr old, unlike other diageo distillers editions that have gone NAS. Somewhat tropical smelling, but not sherry specifically. Quite full and nicely rounded. Sweet, long finish. Thecstyle is not my usual, I prefer a bit more peat and bite, but it is not bad. Would I buy it again? Not sure. Bit of a warming winter whisky (and it's July). I'll enjoy it while it lasts.
