Oloroso-cask-finished single malt from the Dalwhinnie distillery, released as part of the Distillers Edition series. This one was distilled in 2000 and bottled in 2016. A reliably delicious release from the Highland-based distillery.
Heather honey, mint chocolate, a burst of Jazz apples.
Raspberry compote, more apples, fresh barley, a gentle whiff of peat smoke.
Clove-studded orange and a pinch of cinnamon. The light smoke remains.
Honey, apples, etc. Fruity with a tease of chocolate notes. Good stuff. Typical Dalwhinnie, but not quite as good as their flagship, the 15, probably one of my favorite non-peated whiskys from the Highlands.

Visited the distillery Sunday 26/3/17. Most enjoyable, especially the free tasting glass to take home. Purchased a bottle of distillers edition 2016. Wont be long before purchasing my next one !
Very subtle honey flavor. Smooth. short finish.
