    Dalwhinnie 15 Year Old

Dalwhinnie is the single malt distillery renowned for its great value, gentle whiskies. Full of sticky sweetness and a meaty body typical of worm tub distilleries, the Scotch made here was always a blender’s favourite but its own single malts shine too with their flawless, clean, crisp profile. Dalwhinnie 15 Year Old is a standout that has been Dal-winning its way into our hearts for some time now. The Highland single malt was aged in a combination of bourbon and oloroso sherry casks and has just a smidge of smoke running through it to add depth. Delicious stuff.

Excellent single malt scotch. A true bargain for the money.

I have been a single malt scotch for many years. At a recent gala which I attended, Dalwhinnie was the only single malt scotch available. It was my introduction to Dalwhinnie single malt and I was pleasantly impressed by it's delightful taste. I usually pay much more for single malt scotch whiskey.

Great Highland Whisky, give it a try

great value for money, a great highland whisky. Can really get the toffee, and at the moment this is my favourite whisky. I got my bottle at as a gift, although it is a great price for the quality of the whisky. Well worth it.

It’s one of life’s small pleasures that a whisky of this quality can still be bought for a relatively modest sum

From the reviews below, it seems that the Dalwhinnie 15yo inspires strong reactions in both directions. Personally, I love it. It’s my go-to, default evening dram. I won’t pretend that my taste buds spot each and every one of the myriad flavours that the chaps at Master of Malt identify, but it’s a fascinating melange. Once I’d worked out what it was, the background (to me) is Marzipan, overlain with tinned fruit salad (Mandarin oranges?), with an occasional (but not always) lovely shot of aniseed, and, weaving softly through the flavours, a gentle, shy wreath of smoke, like a wisp of mist in the glen. I’m not a fan of heavily peated, smoky, iodinised western isles whiskies, but, in the Dalwhinnie 15yo, the occasional hint of smoke helps create something special. It’s one of life’s small pleasures that a whisky of this quality can still be bought for a relatively modest sum.

    Untouchable

At the price point, it is among the best single malts around and one with genuinely unique complexity. Starts off with a hint of spice and malty character but finishes with a hint of smoke. Will no doubt be a staple in my collection.
