Dalwhinnie 15 Bottling Note

A great single malt Scotch whisky, and excellent value for money too. The flavours are simple, but flawless, a clean, crisp 15 year old from the Dalwhinnie Distillery, also part of Diageo's Classic Malts range.

Nose: Aromatic, toffee, fruit salad, lush nectarine, custard. Floral, apple blossom, honeysuckle. Apple peels, pear, touch of smoke.

Palate: Malty. Walnuts steeped in manuka honey with vanilla sponge. Gentle smoke weaves its way through the cereal with a touch of spice.

Finish: Long, malty, walnut, almond.

Excellent single malt, flavourful and heady flavours of honey, wood and light peaty smoke.
Light on the nose, complex yet distinctive, withvery flavourful notes of honey, wood and light peaty smoke that linger in the mouth and on the tongue. Especially delightful taken together with a piece of slowly melting dark or milk chocolate held for a few moments in the mouth. An impressive overall experience on its own direct from the bottle or even better, softened with no more than a light dash of room temperature spring water.

The gift that keeps on giving!
The first single malt I tried, I keep coming back to it some point every year and it never disappoints. I think people think because it’s approachable and honeyed that it’s not too drawer. However I disagree entirely, every time I try it I find a new subtle note. Beautifully complex with a delightfully long finish. My favourite anytime dram!

No beginning , No middle , No end ....Just plain dull
IMO ..everything of course is only one persons opinion , but for me this is poor .
I have a whisky collection of almost 200 bottles and have recently been on a journey of re.tasting all of the the sensible priced Scotch/Malts ...Deanston 12 , Clynleish 14 , Loch Lomond 12 , Arran 10 , AcNoc 12 , Glen Scotia Double Cask etc etc ...All were enjoyed , there's good value and quality to be had !
Dalwhinnie 15 , always a soft , easy tipple , but for me brings absolutely nothing , poor casks , a poor whisky ...Checkout any of the above this is 15 years wasted !!!

Lovely sipping whiskey
Lovely and tasty with a very slight hint of smokeiness. Well worth it.

A lofty dram from the highlands
I have tried a few drams in this scenic mountain distillery and this is my favourite, full of the character I think is required in a malt of this age, and the price is not unreasonable either.

Easy, delicious and smooth
Lovely smooth, clean slightly smokey whisky. Lighter on the nose than Winter’s Gold. Creamy vanilla with a little nutty flavour followed by a warm spicy taste. An easy and delicious whisky for those new to whisky.

From the highest elevation distillery in Scotland (at least it was 25 years ago).
Not peaty or smoky like many of the West highland single malts. More soft on the tongue, with a balance palate of delicate flavors. For my taste it's the best.

Fruity tooth
My wife was gifted a bottle for her birthday. We cracked it open and drank to her health, and I could see by the look on her face that it was too strong for her tastes. So I diluted it with chilled water and eventually she enjoyed it.
However I will be drinking it neat - it’s a mellow fruity taste that lingers in the mouth, nice.
