A travel retail release of Dalmore single malt Scotch whisky, which is matured in a mix of two types of first fill ex-bourbon casks and Oloroso Sherry butts, then finished in port pipes from the Douro region in Portugal.
Crumbly shortbread drizzled with toffee and dotted with plump raisins. Deeper notes of candied orange peels.
Chocolatey and rich, with treacle and malt loaf. Despite all this decadence, it still shows off some lightly qualities with golden barley and a touch of nutmeg.
Long and warm - plenty of orange aromas and cinnamon.
Value for money is excellent on this bottle
Picked this up at Heathrow. Marvelous, this whiskey is outstanding. Love the sherry and port finish. Nice deep amber colour. If you find yourself at an airport, leave with this. You won't be disappointed.
This bottle is incredible piece of heaven. Got it for 35 Euros at Duty Free what makes it even better. I just really enjoyed it, even though i prefer smoky whiskies.
Nose - The sherry butt finish gives this a pleasing ripe fruit -raisin through to plumb notes. Palate - Rich smooth treacle with orange overtones Finish - Tingly and warm staying at the front of the tongue with orange overtones. Try it with Vietnamese duck braised in spiced orange juice. or just on its own you will still enjoy it.
I just love the sherried whiskies, and this is certainly one of those. I would say it's on par with an Aberlour 10, which is pretty great whisky, but cheaper. That's not to dismiss this whisky at all, pour me a glass of this, and I will drink it, and then ask for another. Managed to get a litre of this for 40 euro at the airport. A fair price, would buy again.
