The Dalmore 21 Year Old is a limited release of 8,000 bottles matured in American oak for ten years before being moved into first-fill 30 year old Gonzalez Byass Matusalem Oloroso Sherry butts.
Chocolate orange segments open it up, with developing crisp fruit notes of green apple rising to the fore. Ginger snaps, freshly ground coffee and a little bit of nuttiness.

I'm not what you'd call an expert, but I do love everything Dalmore has to offer. This one is the best whiskey I've ever tasted. I can't afford the 25 year to compare it to, but it is surprisingly similar to the 18 year. However similar, it does have a slight edge over the 18, and it's far better than the 12 and 15.
A beautiful whisky, understated, elegant and very enjoyable. It is expensive but not expensive as the 25 year old and in MHO considerably better. I love it.
