The Dalmore 15 year old was first launched in 2007. Matured in Matusalem, Apostoles and Amoroso Sherry casks, it proffers all those winter spice, orange zest and chocolate notes characteristic of Dalmore.
A chocolate orange. Potpourri, perfumed. Fruitcake, Sherry.
Medium, lovely delivery. Zesty orange, Curaçao, chocolate. Winter spice, stem ginger in syrup. Hints of anise and a little hickory.
Malty barley and smoky espresso.

Given as a gift, to be honest I was hesitate to get excited because it has a so-so reputation. I tried it and can say I really enjoy it. Can see myself sipping on it for a while. Not a Top 10 whisky but there are some really interesting notes. Would recommend "Try before you buy" but delightful little gift.
Do not listen to any of these tossers who are saying this is a weak dram outstanding nose and body won't find better for the money.
40%! You’ve got to be kidding me!!!
Very rich.. honey and chocolate in a sherry cask. But not one I can drink all night. 2 is enough
Not a great whisky at all. I’ve tried to give this whisky time to open up but every time I go back to it there’s no real improvement. A couple of drops of water helps slightly, but at only 40% you don’t want to add to much or you end up with weak swill. It’s just slightly fusty, slightly sweet, simple whisky. Certainly not worth the price when you could have a Glenfarclas 15, glenmorangie 12 Quinta Ruban or the like for cheaper than this. Avoid.
