A sextuple-wood bottling from Dalmore. This auspiciously-named single malt Scotch whisky was matured in wine, Madeira, Sherry, Marsala, Kentucky bourbon and Port casks. King Alexander III is a rich, fruity Highland single malt.
Malty and utterly Dalmore. Seville orange zest, Parfait Amour, malty cereal, barley and chocolate. Creamy vanilla fudge, tropical fruit with a vaguely vinous quality.
Medium, rounded. Winter berries, spice, zesty orange. Liqueurs emerge; Grand Marnier, kirsch and Frangelico.
Peppery with well-integrated oak and the claret makes a last minute appearance.

I got a 50cl sample of this from a Dalmore 15yo gift pack. The nose I thought was truly wonderful. It had nice complexity to it, with many layers of fruit, chocolate, and light peat to discover. The palate was also fairly complex, but seemed disconnected with the nose, as if each the six woods made an appearance in either the nose or palate, but not both. For example, the palate was drier than the nose would indicate. All in all, it was pretty good, though I can't see myself paying £112 for a whole bottle.
Had a glass of this last night at a restaurant - think it'll be difficult to find anything better for a cold winter's evening. Chocolate and vanilla came through, with a lovely pepper finish. Colour is beautiful.
This is ne of the truly fine scotches that keep the pallet guessing. As agreed this is a complex taste with a lot going on but extremely enjoyable! Must ensure there is a back up in the cupboard!
Probably one of the finest drams I've tasted. Glad to have a second bottle, the first didn't last! Superb.
This is my favourite. Definitely the best Dalmore I ever tasted. This is suitable for people who appreciate a high quality smooth scotch, and who appreciate taste rather than just the alcohol. Would strongly recommend. If its above your budget, try the 18 year old Dalmore. Also great.
