Gordon & MacPhail
Scotland
Single Malt

A very impressive 50 year old single malt from the Dallas Dhu Distillery, originally known as Dallasmore. Sadly the distillery closed in 1983, but this whisky was distilled back in 1969 and filled into a refill sherry hogshead on the 10 June 1969. Many moons later, Gordon & MacPhail drew the whisky and bottled it for the Private Collection at 43.1% ABV, with only 176 bottles produced.
Aromas of rich fruitcake laden with plump raisins, sultanas, and orange peel. An elegant sweetness of candied ginger, almond marzipan, and treacle toffee. Wisps of wood smoke and tobacco linger upon a back drop of subtle oak.
Toffee apples with fruit and nut dark chocolate flavours accompany mouth-warming cracked peppercorns. Spice sits in the background while wood tannins begin to take hold.
Lingering and warming; roasted coffee beans evolve into a subtle herbal edge. Full of character with a crisp clean edge.
