Inspired by the popularity of the number eight across Asia and the belief that it brings wealth and prosperity, the Concept 8 range focuses on Scotch whiskies that have been specifically aged for eight years. They don't stop there with the eights either – for each collection, they select whiskies from eight different Scotch distilleries, and can you guess how many casks are used from each distillery? Yes, that's right – eight! This particular bottling showcases single malt from Speyside's Dailuaine Distillery and you already know how many years of maturation it enjoyed. A total of 2,724 bottles were drawn from eight casks for this release.
Creamy vanilla, honey, and plum jam on buttered granary toast.
A good amount of spice kicks in with cinnamon, pepper and liquorice, balanced by sweet melon and toffee raisins.
A touch of nutty oak on the finish, subtle fresh menthol, and clove with sweet berry compote.
