This is an awesome dram. So much finesse and such an amazing initial taste. It's hard to find but worth every penny. Got to say pound for pound it's unbeatable ..... bit like Mayweather !
I've had a bottle of this malt for more than 10years. Every person who has tasted it has commented that it is the finest whisky they have tasted. My wife even says it drinkable...and she hates whisky. Perfect in my own opinion-no harshness whatsoever. Buy this malt with confidence
This really is a great whisky. From first pour to taste to finish it's a most enjoyable dram. This has a nice medium balance to it and certainly has that Glenfarclas edge to it. A perfect dram for a winters day.
I'm generally less interested in Speys, but this malt has a fuller, more intriguing flavor to me. Smooth, nice finish, great lesser known malt.
Thick sherry coat on this one, and the underlying spirit seems just as meaty as Mortlach, with more peat. A somewhat dry but full sherry flavor and a bit of farm. Reminds me a bit like Edradour and Glenfarclas, with a swell little peat blast in there. Would buy again in a heartbeat, one of the best values still around. It's a shame Diageo seems to have released this with their standard "feature malt" presentation, at 43% with chill filtration and (probably, but hard to say how much) e150a coloring.
