Cutty Sark Storm is created with older, more robust single malt whiskies than the classic Cutty Sark alongside the same grain whiskies. The result of master blender Kirsteen Campbell's efforts is a fruity and rich blend that remains as accessible and versatile as ever.
Nose: Spiced sherry, prunes and fruit salad. Toffee, vanilla and a little treacle without being too heavy.
Palate: Creamy vanilla and oak alongside dried fruits and more sherried notes, apricots too.
Finish: Spicy with drying oak.
Overall: A richer version of the classic Cutty Sark blended whisky.

An amazing whisky at this price very hard to beet

I'm drinking a glass of this right now, but only because I need to use it up. Nice bottle and branding, but the dram itself is unremarkable and rather low in impact. It's certainly very mellow as other reviewers remark, but I would say to a fault. While it's fresh and easy drinking, it lacks distinct flavours and suffers by being too uninteresting to drink on its own and too weak-flavoured to make any impact in a mix. It compares especially badly with its sibling Cutty Sark Prohibition, which is the same price but 10% stronger and infinitely more interesting. Sadly I bought three bottles of it after being so enthused by Prohibition and this is being discontinued; now I'm slowly but enthusiastically working my way through them, usually as a prelude to a glass of something better.

A great little dram at a fantastic price, fruity, creamy, delicious. Works great in cocktails too!

I took a bit of a chance on this one. I had tried the original Cutty Sark blend years ago, other than remembering it was "fine" I couldn't remember much else about it. After polishing off Ballentines finest, Black bottle(New & old expression-Go with old ;) & BNJ, I was searching for another blended whisky at the £20 price-point. This dram has a subtle complexity from the Highland Park single component, with creamy mouthfeel and fruitcake/sherry notes with a healthy vanilla undertone throughout (like drinking your favourite whisky straight after a custard-based pudding). I've only had the bottle a week, it's meant to be for special occasions, but I'm down to the halfway mark already...says it all! Buy a bottle, I don't think you'll be disappointed!
