The most famous of all the Canadian whiskies, Crown Royal is made with over 50 different whiskies, and they've been making it for over 70 years. It was first created in 1939 to celebrate the visit of King George VI to Canada.

I dont like any whisky apart from Crown Whisky.... Its amazing
There's no better inexpensive whiskey for just chilling after a rough day. Very smooth start with an unmistakeable vanilla in the the nose. I can just on a sniff a tumbler of this for a good 5 minutes before even taking a sip. The vanilla follows on the tongue with rye and a bit of oak on the way down. Very nice!
I like this stuff for what it is, an easy drinkin' whiskey that yes, you can drink straight or mix, and that won't break your bank. If you haven't tried it, enjoy some!
As a Canadian expat now living in Sweden, Crown Royal is a welcome, warm taste of home...when I can get someone to bring me a bottle when they visit, that is. Vanilla wrapped in oak...hints of black pepper...a nice little bite on the finish. No, it's not single malt...but it's not trying to be. It's good, honest whisky with no pretense.
A very smooth drink undiluted. Yes, no bold flavors stand out but there is a slight hints of sweet honey and oak. If you want something that hits the pallet with a stronger Canadian Rye and honey/oak profile then try Alberta Premium Dark Horse for about the same price point. "Tastes like medicine" - hell no. Crown Royal is suburb for the it's price point. An easy drinking dram.
