This single malt from Craigellachie matured for a dozen years, including a finish in an oloroso sherry cask. Not just any cask mind, this was a custom-made octave cask from the folks at Darkness! The smaller cask size ensures greater interaction between the whisky and the wood, meaning plenty of oloroso sherry influence here.
Sweet notes of dark chocolate and peppermint, raisins, and dates, with a touch of butterscotch in tow.
Treacle toffee supports rich layers of juicy barley, with stewed apple and thick, runny caramel.
Ginger loaf, drizzled with treacle, more cooked orchard fruit, burnt sugar, and cacao.
