“Nose: British scones and jam...lovely. Palate: Jammy mouthfeel that descends into its oak, while not forgetting the imperial  breakfast it descends from. For its age...this is good. Really really good. After: The lingering finish is incredible. Remember how damned young this is. There is a haunt of a sour note, but so distracted are you by the age you don't care. Great. ”

The Cotswolds Founder's Choice spent its time maturing in American oak red wine casks that were shaved, toasted and re-charred, following a process that was created by Dr. Jim Swan. Following maturation, this tasty treat gets bottled up at cask strength, letting all those malty, fruity, toasty flavours sing.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Nose

Mango, peach and pear, with a slow build of mocha and Matchmakers (the minty chocolate sticks).

Palate

Mocha sticks around, joined by cinnamon, fiery ginger, foam strawberry sweeties and marmalade.

Finish

Bready on the finish, plus some of those bright mango notes return.
