Compass Box Glasgow Blend - Single Marrying Cask (Pour & Sip)
Those wonderful Compass Box folks went and bottled up an excellent edition of their Glasgow Blend Single Marrying Cask for our Pour & Sip subscription club back in 2022! This particular expression brings together malt whisky from Craigellachie and grain whisky from Cameronbridge, alongside helpings of whisky from Clynelish and Laphroaig, as well as a Highland malt blend. The blend was married in an ex-Clynelish cask for 15 months before being bottled up at 49% ABV. Approachable but still deliciously complex, with familiar Clynelish waxy notes shining through, this one is most certainly superb!
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Nose
Runny honey and stone fruit sweetness, followed by cinnamon, waxy richness, and a lick of furniture polish.
Palate
Ripe apple, creamy coconut, and oaky vanilla, with a saline hint balancing out crushed flowers.
Finish
A lengthy, structured finish, with tannic oak and another generous drizzle of honey.
