A Whisky Illuminati bottling of 20 year old Clynelish single malt, distilled back in 1997. After two decades of maturation in a single American oak hogshead, this whisky was bottled for the Candlelight Series with an outturn of just 251 bottles.
Fruity at first with pear and plum, before some classic Clynelish salinity creeps in.
Crumbly shortbread, waxy orange and lemon peels, savoury oak and vanilla pod earthiness.
