Clynelish
Scotland
Single Malt
A coastal and peaty single malt, the flagship expression from Clynelish boasts a fabulous flavour profile filled with its distinctive waxy notes. Clynelish is the successor to Brora which closed in 1983, which it is built opposite. A well rounded Highlander, though this expression is a bit less peaty than the Brora bottlings of yore.
Zesty, mandarin, tangerine. Smoky.
Quite light, great clarity. Orange, soft acidity. Dry oak. Mixed fruits, vanilla, leather.
Quite long, bitter sweetness developing, spicy oak.

Knocks your socks off.
Reminds me of juicy fruit chewing gum on the nose , sweet , slight orange peel and vanilla on the palate but there is no smoke present in this whisky but good for the price.
Really enjoyed remided me of a good Yamasaki 12 year old and a little bit of smoke head mixed in so for me at the price to the complexity of layers of flavour a good buy for the price drink slow and appreciate
Expected good things from this after reading the reviews but was totally underwhelmed. Couldn't sense any smoke (which as peat fan I was hopeful for a whiff of), and found it very one-dimensional. No more interesting, I thought, than, say, Glenfiddich 12. It has none of the salty drama of nearby Old Pulteney, and none of the standout, lipsmacking flavour of something like Aultmore 12. Won't buy again.
The best is to taste it with your seafood. An outstanding product with a reasonable price.
