The Chita Japanese single grain whisky is one of the selection of fantastic distilleries owned by Suntory – you can learn more about The House of Suntory here.
Chita is their main expression - a whisky matured in a combination of Sherry, bourbon and (interestingly) wine casks.
Chita whisky is great for the summer months.
Honeydew melon, citrus and honey'd cereal.
Vanilla sponge cake and more honey. A touch of orchard blossom.
Medium length, rather zesty.
Not a whiskey friend, this completely surprised, very easy to drink, no strong alcohol taste and leaves a nice aftertaste. The perception of Japanese whiskey improved dramatically as a result.
Has a lot of different aroma that come to your nose. No biting alcoholic feeling in your throat even though the whiskey has 43% of alcohol. I liked it quite a lot.
Suntory always pull off a decent drop, will admit not my favourite but definitely up there, sweet enough but not over powering, a nice fresh finish almost menthol/mint, well worth the money at only £35/£40
Working for a Japanese company i have been spoiled with some of the best now rare Japanese whiskeys . Sadly this is an example of marketing, at any 7eleven in Japan this is £16 bottle. Harsh and unforgiving there is far better at this price point.
It's a bit too sweet and overpriced at nearly £40. There are a large number of better value whiskeys.
