Chita is their main expression - a whisky matured in a combination of Sherry, bourbon and (interestingly) wine casks.
Chita whisky is great for the summer months.
Honeydew melon, citrus and honey'd cereal.
Vanilla sponge cake and more honey. A touch of orchard blossom.
Medium length, rather zesty.
Sweetish... pear, honey, mandarin. Pretty smooth BUT oily. I find it lingers too long to classify it as a clean drink.
Had this whiskey in Osaka, April 2018. This whiskey is a beautiful in look and the taste... sweet and lovely...all I can say it was a awesome whiskey tasting evening in Osaka!! Can find other whiskeys from Suntory in the US.... but not many know about The Chita.. would like to purchase as soon as I can find...
Expectations were low, as it is an inexpensive whisky, but between the three of us, it blew our socks off. Picked up the first bottle from Japan. The second and third found at Reagan International Airport going from DCA to Canada. It was the only Japanese Whisky there.
Easy to drink sweet but too light on the finish
Had a bottle bought for Christmas as I have had an interest in Japanese whisky for a while. I spent ten minutes sniffing the stuff! a wonderfully incredibly smooth ring of open air and vanilla. the finish left me wanting more. the taste is like honey over the tongue and orchardy. Already ordered a second bottle. VERY VERY IMPRESSED. going to investigate more Suntory Whiskys
