Bourbon

A marvellous single malt all the way from New Zealand, produced by the Cardrona Distillery for its Growing Wings series. The range has featured all sorts of different cask types – this time, the whisky was aged in a bourbon cask from Old Forester, a popular bourbon brand (in fact, it's said to have been the first one sold in bottles in America!). This expression was distilled in 2016 and allowed to age until 2021 in the aforementioned bourbon cask, then bottled up at an intense 66.5% ABV with an outturn of 341 35cl bottles.
Cut grass, melted butter, soft flapjacks, and dried pear.
Still rich with vanilla, with honey and nectarine in abundance. Warming oak spices build and build in the background.
Lemon meringue, caraway, and grassy freshness once again.
