Cakey vanilla, caramelised fruit, a hint of new leather.
Quite chocolatey on the palate, with notes of pear and citrus never far away.
Drying oaky spices and another hint of dark chocolate.
What a joy, whilst on the nose it was a bit scary with deep almost acetone notes it came as an absolute joy on the palate tasting like an apple crumble and a Black Forest gateaux joined forces. It’s a steal for the price! Sheer deliciousness
Smooth opening flavour, followed with a warm and a tinge of peat in the aftertaste, which was surprising. A decent 18 but not one I would rush to purchase again at this price point. The Glenmorangie 18 Extremely Rare at £10 more is infinitely smoother and dangerously moreish by comparison.
