Caperdonich - Batch 3 (That Boutique-y Whisky Company)
This is Batch 3 of That Boutique-y Whisky Company's Caperdonich, bottled at 45.7% abv with a cult graphic-novel-style label featuring the legendary pipe that supposedly ran between Caperdonich and its sister distillery, Glen Grant. Allegedly the pipe was removed because locals were drilling into it to steal the whisky. Whether this is true or not is debatable, but the whisky from the now closed distillery of Caperdonich is really rather good for sure - as you can see in this limited release from That Boutique-y Whisky Company.

'That Boutique-y Whisky Company' bottles single malts, single grains, bourbons, blended malts and blends from a variety of renowned distilleries. These whiskies are adorned with cultish graphic-novel-style labels.
120 numbered bottles were produced.
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Nose
The nose is heathery initially with a charcoal smokiness seeping through with a hint of nutmeg following. Beyond this there are notes of stewing orchard fruits, butterscotch and soft calve's leather.
Palate
The palate is medium-bodied with sooty charcoal notes, menthol and apple sauce. Then a deeper character of raisins, grapes and home-made rhubarb crumble emerge with a scattering of cinnamon.
Finish
Green grapes, mint and gentle peat smoke form a long and lingering finish that develops a warm spicy character as it progresses.
Overall
A complex dram with warm fruit and spice notes, leading to that classic charcoal smokiness with a hint of menthol. Just stunning.
