A combination of oak hogsheads and sherry butts are responsible for this release in the Elements of Islay series, distilled over at Caol Ila! Just 1,060 bottles were released at a warming cask strength of 54.6% ABV, so expect ample helping of chilli spice and coastal smoke.
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Nose
Paprika and chilli spice, with barbecue sauce and smoky black pepper. Dark chocolate and lime peel in support.
Palate
Oak char and smooth praline leads into savoury spicy notes, with peppercorns and a pinch of rock salt, alongside summer berry sweetness.
Finish
Salty smoke and chilli pepper warmth lingers.
