The gang at indie bottler Berry Bros. & Rudd got hold of a brill batch of single malt from Caol Ila here! Distilled in 2010, rested in hogshead casks, and bottled in 2022 without any messing about with the colour, or any chill-filtration. A release of 1,128 bottles.
Waxy, smoky notes of snuffed candle, Rich Tea biscuits, and flamed citrus peels. Toasted, seeded bread, with melted butter.
Layers of sweet honey and herbal menthol, with rich peat smoke and toasty oak char countered by lemon sponge cake, and vanilla.
Oily pipe tobacco, cracked peppercorns, more zesty lemon, with lasting coastal embers.
