This right here is a nine year old single malt Scotch whisky from the Caol Ila Distillery on Islay, distilled back in 2011 and aged in a single hogshead cask. It rested until 2021, when James Eadie came along and bottled the whisky up exclusively for Drinks by the Dram! Only 276 bottles of this smoky single malt were produced.
Oat cakes and seaweed salinity, balanced by grassy malt and buttered crumpets.
Still has plenty of those coastal notes, now joined by green apple and caraway.
Crunchy brown sugar, peppercorn, anise, and waxy peels.

Salty and peaty enough to be easily identified as Caol Ila, surprisingly smooth, almost dangerously so, for a 9 year old at cask strength On my second bottle, well worth a try.
