This addition to the independently bottled range from Concept 8 was distilled at Caol Ila and matured for eight years before bottling. In fact, the folks at Concept 8 selected eight casks of eight year old Caol Ila for this release, with a total of 3,688 bottles produced. They like the number eight, you see – across much of Asia it is believed to bring prosperity and good fortune, so we can see why that would make it popular.
A combination of earthen floral notes, grassy campfire, and seaweed.
Oatcakes with salty butter, smouldering sawdust sweet vanilla and oily brine.
Waxed citrus and sweet malt intertwine with smoky salinity and spice that lingers on the finish.
