This single malt from Caol Ila spent 17 years maturing, finishing up in Oloroso sherry casks. The result is a deliciously sweet twist on the whisky's classically smoky, coastal core.
Crisp orchard fruit with fresh pears and green apples lead to dense, earthy tea, spicy anise, and peat smoke.
Oily smoke opens the way with earthy ash and vegetal peat. Sweeter notes of burnt caramel and dark currants mingle with smoked meat and cracked black pepper.
Lingering, drying oak with prickling spice and smouldering embers.
