This single malt was distilled at Caol Ila and spent 15 years maturing in a single bourbon cask between March 2008 and March 2023. The cask was opened by indie bottler House of Macduff, releasing a total of 236 bottles for The Golden Cask collection, at a hearty 55.7% ABV.
Medicinal smoke and meaty malt are joined by herbaceous seaweed and zesty lemon curd.
Soft vanilla fudge opens the way for cooked apricot and a touch of ginger, while coastal peat smoke drifts throughout.
Cooked apples and buttery pastry linger, balanced by powerful peppercorns and warm tar.
