Wine Cask
2008 vintage Caol Ila single malt, matured for 15 years and finished in a premier cru Bordeaux wine barrique before bottling in 2023. A total of 239 bottles join the Infrequent Flyers collection from indie bottler Alistair Walker.
Aromatic waves of pipe smoke and peat join grilled stone fruits and poached plums.
Dense peat smoke tangles with sweet candied citrus and vinous fruit, while cacao and toasted nuts nestle beneath.
A wave of pepper wraps things up, with chocolate raisins and earthen peat in tow.

I liked this a lot but is not very smokey it's more fruity than peaty. But it's an excellent expression for anyone that likes a heavy wine cask influence with a little smoke
