Drawn from a combination of five re-charred wine casks, this 2010 vintage 12 year old Caol Ila joins The Single Malts of Scotland Reserve Casks series. Bottled without added colour or chill filtration, the time spent in wine casks has given the peaty Islay Scotch whisky a touch of jammy fruit character.
Savoury, meaty smoke, with red fruits giving it a barbecue sauce quality.
Very moreish, with smoked, cured meats, and redcurrant jelly.
Lingering peat, with smoked almonds, and some sea spray.
