The renowned Canadian whisky, married in white oak barrels. Canadian Club was founded by whisky mogul Hiram Walker.
The nose is of medium-body with notes of barley sugar and aniseed, notes of cut grass and fennel, a hint of straw and a vegetal freshness. The palate is quite sweet and gentle. There are notes of winter spice and dark sugars, a touch of rum. The finish is of medium-sweetness and of medium-length.
Admittedly I drink for effect, not taste and this whisky certainly did not disappoint me.
Best drink out there and Master of Malt are the best priced on line.
Very best
I first tasted this fabulous rye whisky in 1 968 and have not stopped since. Much harder to buy now my Waitrose and Cash and Carry have stopped stocking it. Such a smooth drink with a slice of orange, ice, Canada Dry ginger ale and sometimes a dash of angostura .and even a sugar lump. I would buy it by the case if I could ? Ray Newton
What they say below --- tremendous value, the highest in whiskies, and if the nutty long rummyish sweet flavor is simply too much, did I say nutty?, you can always add a splash of modest bourbon (EW, Benchmark; please don't tell anyone) to make it more conventional. Maybe ultimately uninteresting, but is that not the case with most whiskies? Good Canadians are quite the remarkable value prospect. The very cheapest ones are not so much, but Canadian Mist, for even less bucks, is the best value on earth for mixing, and the Kirkland version of Crown Royal (superb, but a v different, sherryless accent from CC), for a couple bucks more, is also very good straight sipping.
