Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

The nose is of medium-body with notes of barley sugar and aniseed, notes of cut grass and fennel, a hint of straw and a vegetal freshness. The palate is quite sweet and gentle. There are notes of winter spice and dark sugars, a touch of rum. The finish is of medium-sweetness and of medium-length.

perhaps the best value in all whiskies

What most of the others say --- a smooth and sweetish whiskey w notes of barley (not cereal) and corn (a little) and nearly zero rye spice. It may actually have smoothed from decades past. It is a tremendous value, the best of all whiskeys today by some margin, probably, meaning classy smoothness and elegance vs dollar spent. It mixes extremely nicely from a splash to half w/ the best of the value bourbons, EW and Benchmark, but absolutely do not ever tell anyone you did that. Would love to see it honestly (=blind) compared w uppity whiskies of any sort.

    No way!

Please tell me you are joking when you give this whisky a review above 2 stars...

    Taste change of CC

The last few bottles of CC had a very different taste than I recalled from about 6 months ago. Did you change anything?

    Sweet!

Disfrutadlo!

    Its my staple

Been drinking CC & 7up since before I was...... well....am 48 now, have drank bottles of this stuff at weddings and have never been sick. Hangover yes, but not like a wine hangover. For some reason my body handles it fine, like the effects of the alcohol, smooth, nice mixer with sprite, 7up, ginger ale, or any of these in diet varieties if you're "counting calories. " Always have a handle in the house, mix up 2 strong ones (5-6 second pour) mixed with a little 7up to take the edge off a rough day. Its my staple, unless the week is really rough then its on to straight Beefeaters with a little olive juice (dirty) and 3 blue cheese olives, martini, 3 of these in 2 hours or less and who cares about the week?
