The renowned Canadian whisky, married in white oak barrels. Canadian Club was founded by whisky mogul Hiram Walker.
The nose is of medium-body with notes of barley sugar and aniseed, notes of cut grass and fennel, a hint of straw and a vegetal freshness. The palate is quite sweet and gentle. There are notes of winter spice and dark sugars, a touch of rum. The finish is of medium-sweetness and of medium-length.
I asked the waitress to bring me any whiskey with a rock of ice and I was very disappointed. It was my first Canadian Club and quite possibly my last one too. Too sweet, too unlike whiskey... I could not finish it and got a cheap Scottish one. Sorry but not for me!!
The 10 euros that it costs in Spain give it ten in quality price. It's true that he remembers rum a lot, but a good one, at least 8 years old. Soft, aniseed and sweet, I recommend it with dessert or after-lunch coffee and on those occasions where the noise or bustle of people does not allow us to dedicate exclusively to our favorite drink. But I would not have an appointment with Canadian Club in the solitude and tranquility of the night, for those moments there are other more delicate and complex malts that will demand us unlike the Canadian Club for all our attention.
I have purchased this for many years, and serve it to guests at parties. It was always enjoyed and flavorful.. Recently they changed the label and they call it "OAKEY and Smooth" VERY wrong change!!! It tastes like OAK leaves and I can't find the original (with the gold label all the way around) anywere !!!! Help
Bought Schweppes ginger ale and a handle of CC. Has become my favorite. Had tried other Canadian whiskeys with ginger ale but CC tastes best.
So so so smooth. This has become my respite after particularly tough days at work. Warming throughout, grassy, and with the rye spiciness hallmark of Canadian whiskies, this is very easy to drink and just bracing enough. Pity those reviewers who are expecting the complexity of a single malt scotch, this is whisky meant for drinking.
