The renowned Canadian whisky, married in white oak barrels. Canadian Club was founded by whisky mogul Hiram Walker.
The nose is of medium-body with notes of barley sugar and aniseed, notes of cut grass and fennel, a hint of straw and a vegetal freshness. The palate is quite sweet and gentle. There are notes of winter spice and dark sugars, a touch of rum. The finish is of medium-sweetness and of medium-length.
I'm a 13th generation proud Canadian and it pains me to say this but this is really low quality whisky. It might be okay if you mix it with coke but straight.....no thanks.
I love expensive bourbons and Canadian whiskies, but based ONLY on the price to quality ratio, there’s nothing better than good old CC. For mixing or sipping on the rocks, yes. Not so enjoyable neat.
Acceptable mixer, value ok, you can do worse. Recommended if you're on a tight budget
To my belief, the tasting must be made in a malt whisky/brandy glass to appreciate the nuances better. On the nose it is burning at first but when swirled around the glass it is amazingly dense and viscous liquid much more than even some malt whiskies. With some water addition grassy and fresh vegetal nuances can be noted. Then oaky and faint vanilla can be felt. Palate is elegant with sweet nunces and alcohol burning is not there any more. Fresh and smooth nuances are dominant. The finish is medium to long. Overall the taste is distinct and unforgettable.
A fine whisky for snipping on the rocks. Very smooth and slightly sweet, like a delicious toffee.
