This expression from Mossburn's Caisteal Chamuis range is a marvellous blended malt Scotch whisky made with Island malts that have been matured for 12 years in refill American oak hogsheads, and then given a finishing period in Oloroso sherry casks. The peaty notes of the Island whiskies blends deliciously with the sweet dried fruit notes from the sherry casks, making for a satisfying expression. The name Caisteal Chamuis comes from a castle that you'll find up on the Isle of Skye, which is a neat connection.
Roast chestnuts, chocolate digestives, dried cherry, savoury smoke.
Still has a coastal edge to it, though mellowed by vanilla and plump sultana notes.
Lasting earthy, peaty notes on the finish.

I just finished a bottle of this, I enjoy Bowmore 12, Ardbeg, Kilchoman, Laphroaig among many others and I’ve got to say I’ve thoroughly enjoyed this bottle. If your tastes are similar to mine, give it a go. You won’t be disappointed.
Received a bottle of this as a birthday present. Beautifully smooth and smoky. Good value for money. I had a bottle of the ten year old caisteal chamuis and that went quickly. Twelve year old just as good
I was shocked by the quality, taste and oily viscosity of this blended whisky. It definitely has some Laphroaig in it. I give it 5 stars for it's price tag!
I bought this Whisky for my dad for Father's Day. He said a superb blend of Whisky and really smooth. He would certainly recommend it. Yours faithfully Susan Bell
so smooth, lovely!
