If you've been in a bar (any bar, really), you've more than likely seen a bottle of this on the shelf. One of the most well-known Irish blends, Bushmills Black Bush features a lot of sherried malt in its recipe, alongside classically caramel-y grain whiskey. Suitable for enjoying neat, but it can also be used in whiskey cocktails that call for dark fruit sweetness...
Over-ripe grape and light citrus on the nose. A touch of toffee and peanut.
Vanilla and milk bottle sweeties. Dried peels, chamomile tea and cinnamon sticks.
Digestive biscuit, cooked plum and orange oil.

Hey, it's one of the better Irish blends, but you've really got to like sherry. Nice oily texture and spicy resinous nose, but the finish is really overly sweet, almost syrupy.

For the price you can't find better lovely sherried whisky
Living in Scotland means having to really struggle to climb over the classic malts to get to this my favourite - so good to find it on line. First whiskey I tasted - given to me by my daddy - what a great education! Love it and am now cultivating the husband's palette - hence this as an Xmas present. What more could you want?
No contest.... Bailey Nicol Jarvie may occasionally question the Black Bush dominance at this price .... My first whiskey love... I hold it in fond memories.... I revisit it regularly..... (I shamefully admit I have consistently been a cheater on all my loves :-( ) Yamazaki, Dalmore, Green Spot, Hibiki... they all have my heart.... but I stray every so often and return to the wonderful experience of Black Bush!
