Single Malt
31 Oct 1991

An astonishing release from Bushmills here, from the second edition of the annual Causeway Collection. This Irish single malt whiskey was matured for over 13 years in a combination of oloroso sherry butts and bourbon barrels, before going through over 15 years ageing in first-fill Madeira wine casks. Just 738 bottles were released at a cask strength 50.2% ABV without chill filtration or artificial colouring.
Incredibly fruity with mandarin, charred pineapple, dried mango, and creamy banana with chocolate truffle, rich nuts, and pipe tobacco.
Full-bodied, almost chewy, with stone fruits, dates, pecans, sultanas, vanilla, toffee apples, and wintery spice.
Drying oak and still an abundance of tropical fruit.
