Bunnahabhain's Stiùireadair single malt pays homage to the distillery's shoreline on the north-east coast of Islay. They used whisky matured in first and second fill Sherry casks, with a leaning towards deliciously coastal malt.
Brine, toasted sugar and caramel-drizzled raisins.
Honey-roasted nuts, cinnamon and clove, with a touch of salt sea too.
Sherried peels and chilli-chocolate.

Apparent sherry influence on the nose - mix of fortified wine with brown sugar. Sweet on the palate - cream with dried fruit. Finish with caramel and sherry. If you appreciate whisky, get a bottle.
Reminds me of making banana bread - the smell of the rum soaked raisins and sampling the cake mix - this is really good for the money. Good balance of dried fruit and savoury flavour, sherry without the pepper burn of some spicier drams.
It's rare to taste such a rich whiskey without being over powered, with a smooth finish. I really enjoyed this one and will buy it.
Excellent and in my view better than the 12.
A surprise present from my family, and very pleased. This is a very tasty drink, either neat or with a drop of water. It will be savoured, with friends, on special occasions. I will be buying another bottle myself. Definitely worth a try, you won’t be disappointed.
