A smoky single malt from Bunnahabhain here – as an Islay distillery that usually deals in unpeated expressions, seeing the peaty stuff from Bunnahbhain is always a treat! This one was distilled in February 2009 and left to age for 12 years in a refill hogshead until March 2021, when it was bottled for the Lady of the Glen range. 257 bottles were produced.
Grilled lemon and thyme honey, with a good whisper of earthy peat in there.
Cigar box smokiness, balanced by fresh citrus and custard cream biscuits.
A fleeting hint of pepper on the finish.
