Batch 18 is a release of 135 bottles.
‘That Boutique-y Whisky Company’ bottles single malts, single grains and bourbons from a variety of renowned distilleries as well as producing award-winning blended malts and blends. These whiskies are adorned with cultish graphic novel-style labels.
Initially super-grainy, then vinyl and leather boot polish aromas come through. Red fruits dance about, and there’s a very slight whisper of smoke. Sweet spices (think vanilla pods and nutmeg) add a pleasing prickle in the background.
Fresh petrichor notes come to the front, followed by more of the graininess, and a gently metallic type of peat. Apricot and peach stone fruits arrive, and there’s a suggestion of damp grass.
Cereal, vanilla, and peat linger on.
