Bunnahabhain
Scotland
Single Malt
In what will be seen as a positive move to whisky connoisseurs, Bunnahabhain have decided to bottle the 25 year old without chill-filtration and without colouring. Presented in smoked oak glass bottle and aged label design.
Sherried; sweet toffee and polished leather followed by cinnamon and the faintest hint of cardamon.
Fruit compote doused in cream and caster sugar, this develops into roasted malt, chestnuts and stewed raisins.
Demerara sugar, mixed spice, nutmeg and caramel lingering for long after the final sip.
Bunnahabhain with twenty-five years aging opens up the spirit to a plethora of rich, dark flavours that stay with the drinker long after the glass is finished.
the best I've had..wow...been drinking scotch for over ten years,,,1oo's of bottles,,,nothing compares....
-great whisky, sweet and cinnamon smell. A lot of caramel taste, nice long aftertaste! Very, very good and this is an understatement!! Jo
The Bunnahabhain 25 was a superb dram. So smooth and so creamy, it almost didn't taste like alcohol. The flavors I picked up were chocolate, cream, and caramel, with just a hint of smoke. I will be getting a few bottles of this!
I am not a Scotch expert. I am a normal gentleman that has tried several Single Malt Whiskeys in restaurants, and wants to learn more. To do that I recently purchased 10 samples. At least one was from each region of Scotland. I had no regard for price. The goal was to try some very fine Whiskeys. I wanted to learn. This review is based on that. I am giving each sample 5 stars simply because they are all fine whiskeys and my pallet is not refined enough to make a 1-5 judgement. I just took my first sip f this wonderful whiskey. Very smooth, Very plesant. This is a great whiskey.
My favorite Scotch I have ever tasted, ever, by far! Smooth, complex, rich, and sweet, and the flavors linger on the tongue! Almost chocolatey!!! I would drink this every day if I could, but it is perfect for a special occasion, both festive and sublime!
