Bunnahabhain 18 Year Old is a rich, complex beauty who has spent nearly two decades lounging in a mix of sherry and bourbon casks, soaking up all the good stuff. Bottled at 46.3% ABV without chill-filtration or added colouring (because why mess with perfection?), it serves up layers of sweet, fruity, and savoury deliciousness.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Nose

Salted caramel leading to sticky toffee pudding sprinkled with nutmeg. With time a leathery quality emerges.

Palate

Dense, rich sherried notes perked up with a coastal saltiness. On a second wave roast chestnuts emerge and gentle wood spice.

Finish

Woodspice becomes mixed spice. The finish is warming and lengthy; salt and sherry towards the very end.

Overall

Bunnahabhain without chill-filtration is dense and oily and shows off its sherried credentials with ease.

NOT THE SAME AS BEFORE!

NOT THE SAME SCOTCH AS BEFORE! I have been drinking Bunnahabhain-18 46.3% for few years now and it has been my favorite. Recently, the distributor dropped this item from Arizona. I was glad to find 2 bottles in California last month. But when I came home and opened one of them, it was NOTHING LIKE BEFORE. It tastes more like the 12 year old Bunnahabhain, at best! I sent 2 messages to Bunnahabhain and received no response. It is sad that my all time favorite scotch is no more.

Price 20 pounds higher

Really good whisky, but a pity that MoM has increased the price with 20 pounds recently....

Horrible

I have had a bottle before wich was an amazing sherrybomb with good old oak influence. Bought another bottle here and it's hard to believe that it's the same whisky. It tastes NOTHING and I do mean it. A rancid bitter coca cola note is what I manage to pinpoint other than that it's like a bland blended. Won't be buying another one. Being a whiskycostumer is as unsafe as you can get cause more and more often it's like buying the "pig in the sack" as we say in sweden. You never know, if you loved the first bottle - don't expect too much if you buy another.

Wonderful

Ive just gotten round to trying this, and it really is wonderful. It's rich with a thick with a great mouthfeel. After adding a little water and leaving for 10 mins it really opens up giving off a plethora of aromas that sherry bomb lovers will adore.
