The fantastic flagship from Bunnahabhain (pronounced boo-na-ha-ven), launched as the distillery's original single malt in 1979, this Bunnahabhain 12 Year Old. It is aged in a mixture of bourbon and sherry casks and, since a relaunch in 2010, has been bottled at a big 46.3% ABV without chill-filtration or additional colouring. Very impressive. Bunnahabhain 12 Year Old is unpeated, unlike most Islay whisky, but has a beautiful coastal quality complemented by its fruity, light, sweet and nutty character. It’s one of those whiskies that newcomers and enthusiasts alike appreciate.

Fresh, sweet, and a little floral. There’s seaweed, rich malt, dried fruit, camphor, caramel, chocolate orange, and apple poached in cinnamon.
Soft and supple with a nutty, sherried quality leading among vanilla, marmalade, sultanas, and a bright coastal element.
Mochaccino, dried herbs, Christmas cake spice, and a balanced salty tang.

I have been drinking whisky for over 50 years and this is a superb malt little drop of water let it stand give it time wonderful
I love this bottle. It gets better after the first two ounces of it. Very flavorful.
I nearly wrote this whisky off after the first dram, and I'm so, so glad I gave it another go. I now completely understand the reviews from people who've had the same experience! My first dram was a challenge; it had a fiery, sweet peppery bite which was interesting, but it was hard to get past that to find much else in terms of flavours. After a few days and drams went by, the true nature of the whisky opened up; those unctuous, molasses/sherry/Christmas pudding flavours that I love in a whisk(e)y. For me it's like Redbreast 12's Scottish counterpart - think along those lines in terms of flavours if you've tried RB12. Maybe the whisky just needed some time to breathe, maybe it's psychological - who knows. I've now been completely converted to Bunnahabhain 12 and will be buying this again when the bottle runs dry.
Its fantastic. The sherry notes, with malt with a little sweetness and the characteristic Islay flavours.......just finished a dram!!!
Fairly disappointing for a 12 year old single malt. This, in my opinion, is more comparable to a cheaper blended whisky in flavour, with an unpleasant, aggressive alcoholic bite. I'm sorry I blind bought a bottle based on reviews - unfortunately I don't see what the fuss is about.
