The fantastic flagship from Bunnahabhain (pronounced boo-na-ha-ven), launched as the distillery's original single malt in 1979, this Bunnahabhain 12 Year Old. It is aged in a mixture of bourbon and sherry casks and, since a relaunch in 2010, has been bottled at a big 46.3% ABV without chill-filtration or additional colouring. Very impressive. Bunnahabhain 12 Year Old is unpeated, unlike most Islay whisky, but has a beautiful coastal quality complemented by its fruity, light, sweet and nutty character. It’s one of those whiskies that newcomers and enthusiasts alike appreciate.

Fresh, sweet, and a little floral. There’s seaweed, rich malt, dried fruit, camphor, caramel, chocolate orange, and apple poached in cinnamon.
Soft and supple with a nutty, sherried quality leading among vanilla, marmalade, sultanas, and a bright coastal element.
Mochaccino, dried herbs, Christmas cake spice, and a balanced salty tang.

This thing is really good! Great after dinner dram. Reminds me of Chocolate coffeecake with a baking spices and herbs. This is a must buy, and it so atypical for an Islay scotch. No peat, no problem. This scotch rips! 9/10 smell 9/10 taste 8/10 finish
It's a lot of sherry but somehow feels balanced nonetheless. Beautifully light, sweet, and savory. Would've believed it if you told me it's a speyside. It's an unpeated whiskey so idk why so many "no smoke" complaints. So good that it feels rude to stop at the first dram.
A bit too strong and sickly. The alcohol is way too powerful yet no smoke. Compared to Lagavulin 16 it's poor. Even Laphroig is better. Rather overrated, wish I'd not bought it.
Tastes like chocolate and caramel with dark fruit thats been lightly roasted on a fire with a slight nutty aftertaste. It completely coats the tongue, its sweet (in a delicious way) and complex. It smells absolutely wonderful and sniffing this whisky will become addicting. It is immediately in my top 5 scotches. It doesn't get any better this for a bang for your buck. If your looking for a peatly Islay scotch look elsewhere, like Ardbeg, but if you are looking for an almost dessert like night cap this is the dram for you. If you want you could add a dash or 2 of Ardbeg Uigeadail and make yourself one of the most complex and tasty blends I've made, its glorious!
I love it , no afterburn which is nice.
