This indie Bunnahabhain was bottled up courtesy of Gordon & MacPhail. The Islay whisky was aged for a decade and bottled for the Discovery series at 43% ABV. The bottling series is colour coded, so this we can tell from this expression that it's got a 'smoky' flavour profile, which is unusual for a Bunnahabhain!
Ground almond, tinned pear and salted caramel, with an aromatic smoky note running through alongside a hint of vanilla.
Key lime pie, toffee apple, oak char, anise and smoky bonfire embers.
Lemon peel and warming nutmeg and ginger, with just a hint of persisting smoke.
Compared to other bunnahabhain I have tried this is the only one I would not buy again
Light colour, distinctly smoky nose. Gentle, sweet on the palate, and good length to the smoky finish.
Amazing peaty smokey taste. Spidey after notes. Superb !
Brilliant smoky edition from Bunnahbain and Gordon & MacPhail. This is a glorious flavoursome whisky with some nice citrus after taste. This is a whisky that I would recommend to anyone.
